More About Us

Hi, nice to be speaking with you, a little more here about me and how Street Foodie/Community Rise came about.

I currently work with a Start-up Loan provider, have been involved with markets having managed builds for Street Food Outlets, as well as a variety of small business start-ups. I also bring years of experience and dedication as a Project Manager working for the Public Sector.

Growing up I always had a profound love for nature and humanity. My love for humanity led to a professional career within the Community Safety Division of Adult and Children Services. I have worked as a Connexions Personal Adviser, for Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Teams, and Project Managed initiatives for Youth Offending Services (YOS) and Domestic Violence & Hate Crime Services. Having experienced high childcare costs and the difficulty of trying to balance work commitments with family life, I was drawn to self-employment. I was standing in the kitchen at my parents home when the vision of  'Street Foodie ' and 'Community Rise' came to mind, luckily I had a pen and some kitchen towel close to hand! I am particularly interested in business-education and making good use of space for children and young people. Having qualified as an Early Years Professional (EYP) in 2014, I am a specialist in Early Years Education, play facilities and services. I also have a Masters degree in Education specialising in Leadership and Management.

My work with various organisations including charities, has given me a good grasp of community concerns regarding employment, good use of open space, socialising and hardship.  The latest findings concerning obesity in children also highlights the need for good healthy food and exercise. Following on from discussions with NHS representatives, we decided to promote healthy living and employment focusing on people’s wellbeing. Consultations with numerous Site Managers about the concept identified opportunities to enhance relationships between local communities and landowners/developers. Not only does the developers employees benefit from great food, so also does the local community.

When combining my skills with my team of associates and delegates, we offer great support and guidance to business start-ups! Working in conjunction with our existing client base, and using Street Food Market’s as a catalyst, we will deliver a unique opportunity that will build or enhance any community! We can take on and execute projects. We arrange and manage everything taking away the responsibility of running a quality food outlet, saving the sponsor money and enhancing relationships between developers, local people and public-sector organisations. Supporting small business, we help individuals to improve their wellbeing and fitness, by managing great community ‘meanwhile’ space with tasty Food Markets.

Street Foodie Market Pop Ups

Outside dining and space to meet and socialise is the latest trend in community activity. Nowadays, pop-ups, box parks and converted containers are all the rage! Streetfoodie Pop Up sites are comprised of a ‘community’ of Market Shacks voguishly embellished with scaffold boards, creating a kitchen to street fusion by bringing a ‘diversity’ of homemade cuisines to the street! Structurally tough, our ‘Community Shacks’ are rustic, upmarket and chic! Our community markets supply multi-cultural healthy cuisines and juices, combined with community facilities. Our Pop Up sites also act as 'community hubs' and are host to our range of  'Community Rise Add-on Services'.

Street Market
Warm Food Banks

Warm Food Banks

Our 'community first' approach is all inclusive. Our 'Community Shacks' act as new-age Warm Food Banks. We issue food vouchers free of charge through local signpost centres. People do not feel stigmatised or labelled, as our food vouchers are part of our wider Meal Voucher Scheme. Vouchers issued through signpost centres also entitle the recipient to discounted reflexology treatments from our floating reflexologist.

We work with a nutritionist, community centres, NHS, schools and Local Authorities, 'promoting the market as a healthy alternative to fried food shops'. Our ex-Olympic boxer John Bosco Waigo manages our sport-fit and self-defence classes onsite or in a nearby park. We offer a specialist service aimed at increasing children’s fitness levels. Our nutritionist is also on hand once a week to design a menu for each child.

Cobtainers #Cobs

Our 'Cobs' are upcycled containers situated next to our 'Community Shacks'. We call them Cobs because they are stylishly décored with scaffold boards and 'fuse Containers with Obtainers’.
